Heanor Gate Association runs a successful CCTV monitoring system providing 365, 24/7 coverage for a number of businesses and organisations both on the local industrial estate and in remote locations.

The state-of-the art system is run to rigorous Home Office guidelines and provides full recording of monitored activity.

Heanor Gate Association is reaping the benefits of investing in training for its CCTV employees with the four CCTV completing professional, comprehensive training led by Employer Direct.

The operators have recently observed three separate offences of theft and one of criminal damage. Following Home Office procedures, operators directed police to the offenders and arrests were made on every occasion.

On two other occasions, operators have spotted events in which persons appeared to be taking drugs. On the first occasion, during the working day and following strict guidelines, both the police and the employee's Managing Director were informed of the possibility of a breach of the Health and Safety Act.

On the second occasion the police were informed and an investigation is on going.

The CCTV initiative continues to prove its worth both to existing Association members and potential new members and businesses located in Amber Valley.
